The crankshafts are forged in a steel of high tensile strength, which after chemical heat treatment, gets a high resistance on hard work conditions and good elasticity allowing good performances, even in intensive uses.
The alignment of the crankshaft eliminates vibration problems and increases the life of the bearings, thrust washer and seals.
On the High-Tech crankshaft model, the crank-webs have a full circle shape, reducing the dead volume in the engine and increasing the primary compression. To reduce the weight, the crank-webs have four aluminium inserts. The production process of the connecting rod, guarantees a uniformity of raw material as well as a perfect alignment between the two holes of the connecting rod.
After grinding, the holes are polished with very small tolerances of roundness, ovalisation, parallelism and surface finish, to guarantee a perfect fit between the crank-pin and the bearing.
